Greetings All,
With daylight savings & this warm weather you must surely be thinking of VS sailing again. Club sailing is underway at most clubs & the TT series starts in under two weeks. Yes, that's right. The Taree regatta is on 17th & 18th October. They are great hosts & sailing on the river is a good way to refresh your crew work. You are guaranteed to have to tack & gybe more than any other time in the season! But whether you are going or not, now is the time to get your VS association membership & paperwork completed. Entries for the TT series need to be lodged before the start of the series. It doesn't matter if you miss Taree, you can drop 2 heats, but knowing who has entered a series is essential to scoring it. We use the blue book scoring system & points are awarded relative to the number of entrants in the series. We can get around this like we have in the past by re-scoring races every time another boat enters the series but this is actually bending the scoring rules. A better & easier way is for entrants to sign up before the series starts. Entry forms are attached to the TT NOR. And TT series entry is free!!! If you intend joining the association for just the states or nationals later in the season, why not do it now? It will cost the same, but it makes it so much easier for the registrar & scorer. The bulk of the fees we receive are used to pay insurance, storage of the mould and pay regatta fees to keep us as a class. Remember without a class you’d be sailing in a miscellaneous class… And membership & boat registration fees are now cheaper than there’ve been in decades. Contact myself or any of the executive if you need more info or help getting the paperwork together. Hopefully see you on the water soon. Cheers John edit. Comments are closed.
