Have you all enjoyed winter? I hope so, but I have bad news. Winter is finished. The breezes have switched from the NW to the SE, the days are getting longer, footy is just about finished & the cricket season is about to start? But I can confirm the VS sailing season is starting soon. Check out the Notice of Race documents for the Travellers, State & Nationals for full details but so you have no excuses here is a summary of the regatta dates:
I also have a feeling things on the water may be a little different this year. There is some renewed enthusiasm within the fleet and a few exciting developments. Here are a few. Jeffo & Pete have given Controlled Insanity a small makeover and have recruited Joey to swing up front. This crew will be the fittest out there and the boat has speed. I’m betting they will win more than a few races. Likewise with old Sika 2234. Mark & Mick have given this boat a major makeover & the pictures look great. I don’t think there is anything they haven’t considered, which is a great way to ensure a good season. Robbie is joining the boys for the season, looking to continue the success he tasted at Gosford. Hugh & Tom also decided to give SFC Computers a makeover and have pushed Tim off the boat, replacing him with Jeremy. They are all good sailors so the boat will be fast, but now it will also be uber cool! As for Tim, don’t worry. He has Wobbygong in the shed & will give it a makeover & return soon. The Battleship boys have also used the off-season to their advantage, giving the grey boat some close scrutiny. With new sails & centreboard amongst the improvements ready to be tested, these boys will also at the front of the fleet. As for the rest of the fleet? You’ll have to come along & see what else has changed… See you on the water soon John Comments are closed.
